David
Clinical Psychologist & Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training
MSc Sport & Exercise Psychology, PgDip Clinical Psychology, BSc (Hons) Psychology
I have over 20 years’ experience supporting people with their wellbeing, development and performance.
Alongside my work as a Psychologist in the NHS, I work within an elite Women & Girls Academy, supporting young athletes as they navigate the demands of sport, development and everyday life.
I work with academy and youth athletes who might be looking to build confidence, manage pressure, overcome setbacks, stay motivated or simply feel more comfortable and confident in themselves and their sport. I also work closely with parents and coaches, recognising that the people around an athlete can play an important role in their experience and development.

How I Support
I believe psychology should feel like a conversation, not a test.
My approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to you. We’ll take the time to understand what matters to you, what you’re experiencing and where you want to get to - then find practical strategies that work for you and your sport.
Whether you’re working towards a specific goal, navigating a challenge or simply looking to feel more confident, my aim is to help you better understand yourself, feel equipped to handle whatever sport brings, and enjoy the process along the way.
Where I Support
- Confidence & self-belief
- Managing pressure & competition anxiety
- Motivation & consistency
- Setbacks & resilience
- Mental skills for performance
- Wellbeing alongside sport

- Developing through your sporting journey
