Mahika
Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training
BA Psychology, MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology
I'm Mahika, a Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training supporting athletes, coaches and parents with the psychological side of sport and performance.
Before training as a practitioner, I spent over ten years competing as a national-level table tennis player. This experience gave me first-hand insight into the demands of competitive sport, including managing pressure, navigating setbacks, building confidence and dealing with self-doubt. I understand that behind every performance is a person with their own experiences, challenges and ambitions.

How I Support
My approach is person-centred, collaborative and informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Rather than focusing on eliminating difficult thoughts and feelings, I help athletes develop a different relationship with them, learning to navigate nerves, doubt and pressure while staying connected to what matters most to them.
I believe psychological skills are most valuable when they can be applied in real sporting situations. Together, we can explore practical ways to respond to challenges, strengthen psychological flexibility and work towards goals that feel meaningful to you. For me, it's not about feeling confident or calm all the time; it's about learning how to move forward, even when things feel difficult.
